Growing up, watching the classics (of which my still favorite WWII film “The Great Escape”) Steve McQueen embodied and immortalized pretty much all there needed to be said or done regarding what makes a man. His movies were great. His style unmatched and highly admired. He was the Don Draper and Marlboro Man all wrapped into one before either existed. Even more befitting, he was an avid outdoorsman in the land of Hollywood. I’d be very hard pressed to find an actor nowadays sweat such masculinity… they don’t make ‘em like they used to.
